Technical Assessments are part of almost every interview loop for Engineers – but we often hear from candidates and hiring managers that some things aren’t quite right. Most critically when the candidate or the interviewer feels they haven’t gotten an accurate demonstration of technical skills.
Not designing an effective assessment can result in common feedback that we hear like “The Take Home is too long”. “Leet Coding doesn’t provide anything”. “The Problem Set doesn’t really relate to the job”. Sound familiar?
Genu Talent wants to help change that. Engineers – take the 10 Minute anonymous survey
The purpose of the Technical portion of the interview should be to “have the candidate accurately demonstrate their technical skills in relation to the role that they are interviewing for”. But there are challenges for the candidate and the interviewer to make that a success.
To address these challenges, Genu Talent has designed a comprehensive survey aimed at gathering insights from software engineers about their experiences with technical assessments during interviews.
From the candidate’s perspective, technical assessments should accurately reflect their skills and the requirements of the role they are applying for.
On the other hand, the interviewing company’s perspective is equally important. Companies need to ensure that their technical assessments are rigorous enough to identify the best candidates while being relevant to the job and manageable for the candidates.
We will release a report based on this survey in the coming weeks, including verbatims from candidate responses and raw data. You can sign up now to be notified when the report is complete.
Example questions from the survey:
Which element of a technical assessment do you think best demonstrates your CODING skills?
